EZBIZsa VS Free Sites

Obviously we cannot compete against the free online website builders out there like Google Sites and Yola. Both are very capable of building simple websites that are perfect for one or two page personal sites or a simple brochure site. They are easy-to-use and although basic, and not bad. However, if you are looking for a web suite that is really going to help you build your business, that has tools and facilities that you won't find on any free sites (nor on any site builders of comparable price) then R69,00 per month really is not that much to pay for something as capable as EZBIZsa.

EZBIZsa VS Getting a Website Built for You

Getting a custom website built for you has the advantage that you get exactly what you want. By the way, we can build custom version of EZBIZsa which allows you to get exactly the site you want PLUS all the great tools and facilities found in EZBIZsa. But that aside, you could have one of three types of custom website built for you by your website designer;

• First off, what we like to call a "dumb site". That means that it is just an online brochure and has very few features built in except perhaps a "contact us" form. If you are using a decent website designer, a site like this would cost anywhere between R2000,00 and R10 000,00 (the latter is they have offices in Sandton). It will usually take a few weeks and will require you contacting them and paying extra every time you want changes made or things added or removed (at an hourly rate of between R150,00 to R350,00). Currently most small business websites are this type.


• Secondly, you could employ the services of a website design company that specialises in open source CMS programs like Droopal or Joomla. These companies will install the CMS (which is available for free on the Internet) and configure it to your needs as it is quite difficult to get it working properly and looking the way you want it. With a website like this, you get what you want (as long as the CMS system has the relevant modules that can be customised to your needs) and the big advantage is that you can change content yourself. Web design companies are charging from around R3500,00 although most jobs will be more a few thousand Rand more expensive (in reality you would look at paying around R5000,00 to R10 000,00 through a decent company). • Finally, you could have a custom-built dynamic CMS built for you by a web developer. This will allow you to do anything you want, from changing your content to sending e-mails and newsletters. Obviously the more you want, the more you will pay. A custom-built CMS will most probably cost you from about R5500,00 for really basic capabilities (changing content and sending e-mails). If you want something a little more capable, you will need a large bank balance. The medium-sized to large custom built CMSs can cost in the hundreds of thousands or even millions.
